March 21th 2010

There have been several happy events in our kennel Schnaffentangen lately.
At NKK's International Show in Bø, Norway, our Schnaffentangens Bingo Charlotte got her International CAC/Certificate, which is needed for becoming N Ch later. This was February 20th. And this was her 9th certificate/CAC. 8 times Best Female, BOB or BOS, and her grandfather Konishiki Blackberry Way on 7 of the same 9 shows, was BOB or BOS.

Schnaffentangens Fifi, grandmother to Bingo, now has received her last CACIB-card, so in some months now she will be confirmed International Champion. She is our no 8 affen - living with us - with this title. 5 of them are Schnaffentangen bred. Some other Schnaffentangen bred affens also are International champions.

March 7th our Schnaffentangens Rossa Lita gave birth to 4 puppies, sired by Darkle's Dishily Dishevelled, "Clooney". 2 boys and 2 girls where born as the sun was rising early in the morning, and the sun was shining brightly the whole day, after a long and cold winter. So their names are Schnaffentangens Sunrise, Schnaffentangens Sunlight, Schnaffentangens Sunbeam and Schnaffentangens Sunshine. Unfortunately there were not girls enough this time either, to all who wanted. But one male is still for sale.
Fortunately, Schnaffentangens Gode Gard and Imrun's Famous Eight Themis, also became parents some weeks ago to 4 girls. So we could gladly send interested puppy buyers to kennel Kariva in Halden, not far from us.

And then to a really big event abroad, that we as breeders of Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi are very proud of. Gmmi, sired by Yarrow's Jungle Jim "Ross", a few years ago gave birth to Airescot Peer Gyt, breeder is Nenne Runsten in Sweden. Peer Gynt is now living in Australia, where he recently got his 7th All Breeds Best in Show!

We also are proud that one of Schnaffentangens Sami Tapinpoikas daughters in Sweden, Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy, Dilba, was Swedens most winning Swedish bred affenpinscher in 2009. Mother of Dilba is Orlock Muntenia.

Now we look forward to many shows at home and abroad in the months to come. Especially we look forward to show further our Bingo, and also her younger brothers Schnaffentangens Made To Measure and Schnaffentangens Made To Match.

Esther 15 years old / Esther 15 år

Today March 8th on Womens International Day, Esther is 15 years old.
Comon Beta-Esther is bred by Helena Norling in Sweden, Helena now is co owner in kennel Urax, with Kristina Gunnarsdotter. Both Esther's parents are Urax bred: Urax Boheme and Urax Puppet.
We went to Gustavsberg in Sweden to take Esther home at the end of May 1995. We then had our two p/s mini boys: Patroklos "Kvikk" og Artcele's Quintus "Flaks". That summer p/s mini Grå-Dvergs Doris Day also came to our home. Esther grew up with the 3 minis and they had many happy years together.
January 1998 Esther had her first litter and we kept both puppies: Schnaffentangens Sami Tapinpoika and Susa Tapintytär. Susa died in 2008. Sami is still going strong. Both became Multi champions and have several winner-titles.

Esthers next litter had 3 boys: Schnaffentangens Neliö-Nappi, Nätti-Nalli and Näppärä-Narri. The first two are dead, Narri is still with us, called Pongo. Nappi was Multi champion, Pongo is Nordic champion. Sami as well as Pongo have sons and daughters who can also be seen at shows today.
Esthers 3rd litter had only one puppy, Schnaffentangens First Export. He was supposed to go to England, but one testicle was not at its right place, so we called him Steinar and he had many happy years with Anne and Anders Odden, who now has Schnaffentangens Bongo Charlie.

In the show-ring as well as at home, Esther became a star. International, Nordic, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Denish champion and Norwegian Winner 1999 are her titles.
Our affenpinscher-breeding started with Esther. Twice we mated her in Finland with Seibrin Taapero, and we still have Comon- and Seibrin-blood in our breeding. And thanks to Esther we have 11 affens for the time being. Esther stole our hearts from day one. So many have been charmed by Esther through the years, and they still do.
Esther - Happy Birthday!

-----

Sami er still going strong.

We finally decided to keep both affen boys from our last litter, Schnaffentangens Made To Measure "Jakob" and Schnaffentangens Made To Match "Gizmo".
Gizmo has moved to his new home here in Rakkestad, and will stay with May and her lovely black Miniature Schnauzer Rambo. Thank you May, for saying yes to let Gizmo stay with you.
So far, though it is only the start of February, this year has been great concerning shows.
On this years four first shows, Buster has become BOB 3 times and Bingo got the CACs /Certificates and BOS all 4 times. She achieved 6 x CAC /Certificate as junior, and at the two last shows she entered in intermediate class.

On our homepage you may now see photos of our 5 generations affenpinscher living with us, in a straight line down from Esther. We are expecting a sixth generation, when Rossa Lita hopefully gives birth to her first litter in March.
The affenpinscher-family is increasing, in many countries, and we wish all the best for the future and for the breed.

The 3 p/s puppies that our Miniature Schnauzer p/s Nyx had in November 2009, now have moved to their new owners, and we hope that her sister, Noble-Norah "Zara" will have her first litter in around Easter time. Thanks to Sylvia, Bent and Simen for taking so good care of Zara during her pregnancy, and always.

We have had a very cold winter with lots of snow. Beautiful, but we now look forward to warmer weather.

January 2010.
So the calendar says 2010 and has done so for a couple of weeks now.
The show year 2009 ended perfect. On December 30th our junior female Schnaffentangens Bingo Charlotte got her 4th certificate/CAC, her 4th Best Female and her 2nd BOB. Our International Champion male Konishiki Blackberry Way "Buster" was BOS.
In 2009 Buster was Best Male 17 times in Norway and Sweden, of these BOB 11 times and BOS 6 times. Well done for a 6 year old affenpinscher. And many thanks to his breeder, Linda J. Rupniak.
The Summer 2009 our Schnaffentangens Fifi became International Champion, as the number 8 International Champion affenpinscher we owe (or have owned; 2 Int Champions are dead), 5 of these International Champions are Schnaffentangen bred. We owe or have owned 12 affenpinschers, and we still got 9 of them in the house (+ 2 puppies right now).
We are also happy to see that Schnaffentangens affenpinschers we have sold, have done well at shows and achieved champion titles.

Special gratulations in 2009 to Nenne Runsten and her Airescot Peer Gynt, who went to Australia and there have a wonderful show career. Peer is son of Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi. Special gratulations also to Veronica Lange and Maria Borg, kennel Velvet Dandys. Their VD's Upsy Daisy had a great year 2009 and on her first try in 2010 she became champion. Upsy Daisy is daughter of our Schnaffentangens Sami Tapinpoika. Schnaffentangens Top Tea, owned by Ellinor Gustafson, got her title International champion in 2009.

We showed a lot in Sweden in 2009. Among our very good memories abroad is Buster being Swedish Winner and BOB in Malmö in March.
And Bingo Charlotte being Copenhagen Winner and got 2 x certificate/CAC and 2 x BOS in Denmark in September.
From shows in Norway is worth to mention that our veteran Schnaffentangens Sami Tapinpoika in February at the age of 11 was Best Male and BOS. As Schnaffentangens Rossa Lita was BOB. Rossa Lita in 2009 got her 2 certificates/CACs with BOB and BOS this year. Bingo Charlotte also got 2 x certificate/CAC in Norway as junior in 2009, both times BOB.

Our miniature schnauzers of own breed, Schnaffentagens Balts Ice Cool and Schnaffentangens Balta Ice Cyg Olli started their career in the ring with certificate/CAC and BOB and BOS this summer.
Unfortunately we could not go to the Norwegian Winner Show in November, as our miniature schnauzer Nyx gave birth to her puppies just the same day.

Two Schnaffentangen-litters were born in 2009. October 25th Schnaffentangens Nille gave birth to 2 affen boys Schnaffentangens Made To Measure and Schnaffentangens Made To Match. Father is our own bred Schnaffentangens Näppärä-Narri.
November 29th Nyx gave birth to 3 p/s miniature schnauzer-puppies; Schnaffentangens November Born Emil, November Born Wilma and November Born Rosa. Father is the lovely male at kennel Catechism, Superplay's Easy Going.

We are happy to tell that we still now in 2010 have 5 generations affenpinscher at home.
About this you may read on a separate page soon.
A summary of the year 2009 is that we remember lots of good times on the show-grounds. In the rings as well as around the rings.
We send our best wishes for 2010 to you all.
And we hope to meet you again in 2010 and hopefully also meet new friends.

Wonderful days in Copenhagen September 19th and 20th. Warm and sunny weather, and our affen-girl of 11 months, Schnaffentangens Bingo Charlotte (e: NORD CH Näppärä-Narri & INT CH Schnaffentangens Nille) got CC and was Best Female and BOS both days. She also got the title Copenhagen Winner 2009. 2 boys and 3 females entered the ring on Saturday, 2 boys and 6 females on Sunday. Our INT CH Schnaffentangens Fifi - Bingo's grandmother, was 3rd Best Female Saturday, and Bingo's grandfather, our INT CH Konishiki Blackberry Way "Buster" was 2nd Best Male with CACIB both days. We also met Bingo's half sister (daughter of Näppärä-Narri) on Sunday, Imrun's Little Princess Saga, who got her CK and was 4th Best Female. Our congratulations to kennel Oceanwild and their junior male Oceanwild Its Tough To Be a Bug, who got CC and BOB both days.
--
The week-end before, Grete and 6 affens went with the house-car down south in Sweden, and showed Buster, Rossa Lita and veteran Bella. Buster did best of the 3, as 3rd best male and 2nd best male. And thank you to Pauline Björklund, breeder of our miniature schnauzer Motown's Baby Jump, for very good advice in finding place for my big car. Our Baby is a very happy dog and she has been so good to us during the years, and she has given birth to very kind and happy babies.
--
We have showed at lot in Sweden this year. Now we are back home here in Norway after several periods this summer in Sweden, and here at home there are still some shows to enter before this year ends.

Monday evening we got well back home after a four days journey in Sweden. We vent to the International Dog Show in Högbo Bruk, not far from the Swedish town Gävle. Quite a long way. After the show on Saturday September 5th, we once again stayed at Nenne Runsten's place. This time we stayed until Monday and had a very nice time, as always. And congratulations to Nenne's affenpinscher male Ch Wintercloud Hector with his BOB at the show, and this day he also became International Champion. Congratutations also to affenpinscher female Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy, daughter of our Sami, she being Best Female. Well done, as so many times before.
We also send our congratulations to our good neighbour when we are in Sweden, Margaretha Andersson, her young Riesenschnauzer female "Elin" was BOB and got cacib, and this on her first official show.
